Programs
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is dedicated to implementing programs of service that enhance the social, economic, and educational well-being of the local, national and international communities. Programs remain the heart of AKA. The size and scope of services provided to our communities have grown and significantly improve the quality of life for all who reside within our service areas.
The program theme for 2018-2022 is Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. The International Program includes five program targets that are designed to advance the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha with excellence and underscore our commitment to sustainable service.

Target 1:
HBCU for Life:
A Call to Action
Alpha Alpha Eta Omega sponsored a college fair highlighting several HBCUs across the country and giving potential students the opportunity to learn more about this valuable resource. Students were able to get their questions answered and have 1:1 breakout sessions with college administrators.
#CAP
College Admissions Process
Ten local high school students attended and worked with #CAP Program Assistants by attending one or more of the following sessions: The Search, Test Tips and Prep,
The Application, Financial Aid, Scholarships
Target 2:
Women's Healthcare and Wellness
Alpha Alpha Eta Omega held programming to raise community awareness of critical health issues impacting African-American women. The International Women's Day Program and the Walking in Wellness 5K were just 2 of the programs supporting Target 2.
Target 3:
Building your Economic Legacy
The Houston Money Week event and the Pink Pages Business expo both supported objectives of Target 3 by educating participants about Personal Finance and Wealth Accumulation, Credit Repair & Monitoring, and Entrepreneurship and supporting Minority Owned Busineses.
Target 4:
The Arts!
Alpha Alpha Eta Omega paid homage to the Harlem Renaissance by recreating a magical evening at the infamous Cotton Club. We also sponsored a day long arts camp that highlighted dance, spoken word, and poetry.
Target 5:
Global Impact
Alpha Alpha Eta Omega collected 450 pair of shoes for Sole4Souls and over 150 pairs of eyeglasses to be distributed to The Lion’s Club. Additionally, we implemented "Sit and Sew" where members and individuals in the Cypress community assisted in completing pillowcase dresses and shirts to be shipped to Haiti at the end of June.
